Behavioral Health Services seeks to deliver support services to juveniles and families residing in and around the Greater New Orleans area. BHS offers Parenting Education for both Teens and Adults, as well as a youth Anger Management group. BHS provides case management services, makes recommendations on services that would be beneficial for the juvenile and family unit, and assist juvenile/family with accessing services such as:
Parenting Education Classes
Who: Adolescents/Teens receiving services through OPJC/OJJ who are expecting a child or that already have children. Parents of juveniles receiving services through OPJC/OJJ.
What: Teen and Adult Parenting Education Groups (12 WEEKS)
When: Wednesday Evenings (4:30pm- 5:30pm) Teen
Wednesday Evenings (5:30pm-6:30pm) Adult

What: Anger Management Groups (10 WEEKS)
- We will cover topics such as: dealing with conflict and anger, substance use, journaling, interpersonal skills in communication, listening, judgment and impulse control, forgiveness, managing expectations, changing self-talk, improving optimism, recognizing triggers, relaxation techniques, and creating anger management plans.
When: Groups will begin on Tuesday, June 21st.
Tuesdays 4:45pm-5:45pm Female Anger Management Group
Thursdays 4:45pm-5:45pm Male Anger Management Group
(On alternating weeks, both anger management groups will meet together on Tuesdays from 4:45-5:45 pm)
