TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Full Closure of 5700 Block of Magazine Street for Underground Utility Work

The City of New Orleans Department of Public Works (DPW) is notifying residents and motorists of a full closure of the 5700 block of Magazine Street beginning at 6 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 6, and continuing through 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 7.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY: TEMPORARY LANE CLOSURES IN MID-CITY BLOCKS FOR ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS

The City of New Orleans Department of Public Works (DPW) announces that beginning the week of Monday, October 6, 2025, at 7 a.m., crews will begin asphalt removal and milling at the following locations in Mid-City: 

  • 100 block of South Saint Patrick Street 
  • 100 block of North Bernadotte Street 
  • 4700 block of Cleveland Avenue 
  • 300 block of South Olympia Street

NORD Commission Announces Opening of 2026 Summer Partner Applications

The New Orleans Recreation Development (NORD) Commission today announced that it is seeking individuals, organizations, and other entities to apply for 2026 summer program partnerships. These partnerships will support NORD Summer Camps, which serve youth ages 4-12 and teens ages 13-15.

CITY OF NEW ORLEANS ISSUES OFFICIAL STATEMENT IN RESPONSE TO MOODY’S BOND RATING

The City of New Orleans today issued the following statement regarding the recent action by Moody’s Ratings issuing the City a bond rating of A3:

 

On Oct. 1, Moody’s assigned the City an issuer rating, and general obligation and limited tax bond ratings, of A3. This followed their review of the City’s 2024 audited financial statements, adopted 2025 budget, and subsequent budget ordinances.

NORD COMMISSION OFFERS FREE KID CAFÉ AFTER-SCHOOL MEAL PROGRAM IN PARTNERSHIP WITH SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK

The New Orleans Recreation Development (NORD) Commission is pleased to announce that Kid Café, a free after-school meal program for youth ages 18 and under, is now underway. In partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank, No Kid Hungry, and Share Our Strength, the program provides children in afterschool program sites across New Orleans with consistent access to nutritious meals during the school year.
