NEW ORLEANS — On Saturday, March 21, weather permitting, the City of New Orleans, Department of Public Works will temporarily close lanes on the North Broad Street overpass between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. to accommodate bridge inspectors. The lane closures will be on Broad Street between Earhart Boulevard and Gravier Street.
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) requires that all bridges are inspected every two years for any structural deficiencies on the top deck, as well as on the underside structure and supports.
One lane of traffic in both directions of North Broad Street will remain open at all times. Public safety is our priority; commuters are asked to travel at reduced speeds and to be mindful of workers in the area.
