Traffic Advisory: Temporary Lane Closures on General DeGaulle Drive
NEW ORLEANS — On Wednesday, March 18, 2020, weather permitting, City of New Orleans, Department of Public Works contractor Hard Rock Construction Co., LLC will close lanes on the General DeGaulle Bridge to accommodate repair crews. Public safety is our priority; commuters are asked to travel at reduced speeds and to be mindful of construction workers in the area.
Crews will be repairing the asphalt approach to the bridge, which is located in the 4000 block of General DeGaulle Drive. Initially the left and middle lanes will be closed and the right lane will remain open to traffic. Upon completion of the left and middle lanes, the right lane will be closed and crews will make repairs to the right lane and sidewalk.
The project, which is funded by City of New Orleans bonds, is expected to last two to three weeks, weather permitting.
Questions about this project or our Capital Improvement Program should be directed to RoadWork NOLA at 504.658.ROAD (7623) or roadwork@nola.gov.
