Traffic Advisory: Closure of South-bound Lanes of Toledano Street for Construction

The City of New Orleans announces that beginning Wednesday, February 12, weather permitting, the Office of Stormwater and Green Infrastructure’s contractor, Impetus Infrastructure, LLC, will implement lane closures to continue roadway work for the DPW547A - DPS01 Watershed (Broadmoor HMGP) Drainage Upgrades and Green Infrastructure Project (Phase I).

Temporary lane closures will begin at 7 a.m. on February 12 in the 3000-3200 blocks of Toledano Street and will remain in effect for approximately one month. Traffic will be limited to one lane in each direction while this closure is in effect.  During this project, the contractor will be working from 7 a.m. until sunset, Monday through Friday.

The DPS 01 Watershed Drainage Upgrades and Green Infrastructure project is a two-phased implementation approach to reduce flooding, particularly in the Broadmoor and Central City neighborhoods.  It will also include green infrastructure (GI) features in the stormwater drainage system to reduce runoff and create and enhance public landscape and park amenities. This will be accomplished by upgrading the City’s stormwater drainage infrastructure with green storage, infiltration, and filtration landscape features, along with pipe and street upgrades. Storage will be added throughout the system to create a cascading effect that stores and detains runoff. The Project also includes water and sewer upgrades that are impacted by the stormwater improvements.

The $39.6 million DPW547A - DPS01 Watershed (Broadmoor HMGP) Drainage Upgrades and Green Infrastructure Project (Phase I) was designed by CDM Smith Inc. and is being constructed by Impetus Infrastructure, LLC. Click here to view the Factsheet with more information about Phase 1 of this project.
