Traffic Advisory: Pontchartrain Expressway Westbound Left Lane Closure for Pole Restoration

 The City of New Orleans today announced that on Thursday, Feb. 20, the Department of Public Works (DPW), in close coordination with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LaDOTD), will close the left lane of the westbound Pontchartrain Expressway between the railroad trestle and the 17th Street Canal. This closure will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Throughout the closure period, appropriate signage and traffic control personnel will be deployed to safely guide motorists through the affected area.

This closure is necessary to facilitate the restoration of knockdown poles and is a part of the City’s ongoing efforts to enhance roadway safety and infrastructure.
