TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Lane Closures Scheduled for Crescent City Connection Decorative Lighting Maintenance

The City of New Orleans today announced upcoming lane closures as part of the Crescent City Connection Decorative Lighting Project. These closures will allow the contractor, Frischhertz Electric, to perform essential maintenance work, approved by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD).

While the decorative lighting system was originally constructed by LADOTD, it is now owned and maintained by the City of New Orleans. This work represents the first in a series of planned closures to support the ongoing upkeep of the lighting system.

Scheduled Closures:

  • Monday, July 7, 2025:
The US 90 Westbound entrance ramp at Tchoupitoulas Street will be closed from 3:34 a.m. to 7 p.m.

    • Detour: Motorists should use the Magazine Street entrance ramp to access US 90 Westbound. See map for details.

    • Note: This ramp closure will not take place during eastbound High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) hours or during any scheduled HOV closures.

  • Tuesday, July 8, 2025:
A two-lane closure will be in effect on US 90 Westbound (Crescent City Connection Bridge) from 4:30 a.m. to 9:15 p.m.

Drivers are urged to plan ahead, follow posted signage, use alternate routes when possible, and exercise caution while traveling through the area. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
