NEW ORLEANS — On Friday, Aug. 1, The Mayor's Neighborhood Engagement Office, in partnership with Starbucks, One Heart NOLA, and District "C" Councilmember Freddie King, will host a Neighborhood Cares Initiative: Back-to-School Fair at the Treme Recreation Center (900 N. Villere St.) to support families as they prepare for the upcoming school year.
The event begins at 3 p.m. and will feature free laptops, backpacks filled with school supplies (while supplies last), haircuts for boys, hairstyles for girls, more than seven barbers and 22 beauticians, and a community resource fair. Attendees will also enjoy live music, free food, and family-friendly activities.
Free parking will be available in the lot located at Basin and N. Villere streets, behind the recreation center.
This initiative aims to ensure New Orleans youth are equipped, confident, and celebrated as they return to school this fall.
Please note: Children must be present to receive a backpack and laptop.
The Mayor's Neighborhood Engagement Office is proud to collaborate with dedicated partners, including Starbucks, One Heart NOLA, Hair Kingdom NOLA, Mama’s Beauty Supply, and community leaders from across New Orleans, to make this impactful event possible.
