NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans announced that beginning Monday, Nov. 3, the Department of Public Works (DPW) contractor Barriere Construction Company, will temporarily execute a road closure to vehicular traffic for approximately 3 days to accommodate utility construction at the Warrington Drive and Allen Toussaint Boulevard intersection. This road closure is necessary to complete essential waterline installation for the 1800 block of Allen Toussaint Boulevard in accordance with the RR405 NOFOG Project.
As a part of the RR227 St. Anthony East/West Group B and C Project, crews will actively install new subsurface utilities along with roadway improvement throughout the area. Construction is expected to continue through Spring 2027, weather permitting. During this time, repaving the asphalt roadway from curb-to-curb, repairing damaged sidewalks, installing ADA compliant curb ramps at intersections, and replacing damaged underground water, sewer and drainage lines construction will be underway.
Parking impacts are anticipated in the construction area. “No Parking” signs will be posted in advance, and motorists are encouraged to follow posted restrictions to help ensure a smooth and safe construction process. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Safety is our top priority. Traffic control measures and signage will be in place to guide motorists and pedestrians safely through the area.
