**UPDATED*** TRAFFIC ADVISORY: TEMPORARY LANE CLOSURES OF ALCEE FORTIER AND PELTIER
The City of New Orleans Department of Public Works (DPW) announces that starting the week of Monday, Oct. 27 at 7 a.m., there will be intermittent closures to through traffic on lanes of 4700 block of Alcee Fortier and 14000 block of Peltier. These closures are expected to last for approximately three weeks.
Concrete panel replacement will impact both blocks and at their intersection.
The temporary lane closures will allow DPW contractor Hard Rock Construction Co. LLC to complete concrete panel replacements as part of the DPW775: Right of Way Improvement Concrete Project. Traffic will be shifted to one lane and local access will be maintained.
Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes during the closure. Traffic control measures — including signage, cones, and fencing — will be in place to ensure the safety of drivers and pedestrians. Parking will be prohibited on blocks where crews are actively working. “No parking” signs will be posted in advance to notify residents and businesses.
This work is part of the DPW775: Right of Way Concrete Improvement Project, which includes concrete panel replacement, paving and sidewalk repairs at various locations throughout the city. Hard Rock Construction Co. LLC is leading construction activities, which generally take place Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work as needed.
