**UPDATED** TRAFFIC ADVISORY: TEMPORARY LANE CLOSURES OF PARIS AVENUE FOR RIGHT OF WAY ASPHALT IMPROVEMENT
The City of New Orleans Department of Public Works (DPW) announces that beginning Wednesday, Oct. 29 at 7 a.m. there will be asphalt removal, patching, and milling at the below locations. All areas are anticipated to be completed in approximately 3 weeks once started:
- Paris Avenue patches:
- 1 asphalt patch at John F. Kenndey High School - between Aviators & Burbank
- 1 asphalt patch at the intersection of Paris Avenue & Wakefield Place
During this time, temporary lane closures will allow DPW contractor Hard Rock Construction Co. LLC to begin asphalt patching roadway improvements as part of the DPW771: Right of Way Asphalt Improvement Project in the area to improve drivability.
Traffic control measures — including signage, cones, and fencing — will be in place to ensure the safety of drivers and pedestrians. Parking will be prohibited on blocks where crews are actively working. “No parking” signs will be posted in advance to notify residents and businesses. Local access will be maintained, but drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes during these various closures.
This work is part of the DPW771: Right of Way Asphalt Improvement Project, which includes asphalt milling and overlay with replacement, paving and sidewalk repairs at various locations throughout the city. Hard Rock Construction Co. LLC is leading construction activities, which generally take place 7 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work as needed.
