CITY OF NEW ORLEANS CELEBRATES SUCCESSFUL LAUNCH OF CRESCENT CITY ID PROGRAM

NEW ORLEANS — The Office of Human Rights & Equity is celebrating the resounding success of the Crescent City ID Program launch event, held on Saturday, Sept. 6 at the Treme Recreation Community Center. The kickoff drew an enthusiastic crowd of residents from across the city, demonstrating strong community support for this new initiative designed to ensure all residents have access to a secure, City-issued identification card, expand access to vital City services, and strengthen the local economy.

The event featured music, giveaways, and a city and community resource fair, all highlighting the program’s commitment to inclusion and civic pride. Many residents successfully completed their Crescent City ID applications on-site and received their new IDs — which double as a New Orleans Public Library card, a NORD recreation card, and provide discounts at participating local businesses.

“We’re proud to see so many residents embrace the Crescent City ID, and even prouder to see our local businesses join us in supporting this initiative,” said Kahlida Lloyd, Director of the Office of Human Rights & Equity.

“This turnout proves just how important this program is for our community. The launch was only the first step — now we’re bringing the Crescent City ID to neighborhoods across the city through our mobile pop-up events,” said Daisy Reyes-CabralCrescent City ID Program Manager.
