The City of New Orleans issued the following statement:
In light of the current litigation surrounding ordinance numbers 35,039, 35,054, and 35,055, and out of respect for the judicial process, Mayor LaToya Cantrell will not be signing them into law.
These ordinances could significantly impact the future fiscal health of our City. Mayor Cantrell remains dedicated to the responsible fiscal stewardship of the City and ensuring that decisions are well thought out and made sensibly with the future in mind.
