August 6, 2024 | From City of New Orleans
NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans today announced that starting Wednesday, Aug. 7, at approximately 9 a.m., the Department of Public Works (DPW), in close coordination with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LaDOTD), will close the left travel lane in both eastbound and westbound directions along the Pontchartrain Expressway between Metairie Road and the railroad trestle. This closure is part of ongoing streetlight repairs managed by DPW.
The closure will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. During this time, appropriate signage will be in place to direct motorists safely through the area.
These repairs, conducted by DPW contractor All Star Electric, are part of a joint effort to improve street lighting. The City and LaDOTD are dedicated to completing these essential repairs. For more details, please refer to the attached map.
For questions about this advisory, please call 504.658.8000 or email dpw@nola.gov.
