NEW ORLEANS — Mayor LaToya Cantrell today issued the following statement on the passing of the Honorable Eddie Sapir:
"The City of New Orleans mourns the loss of the Honorable Eddie Sapir, a man who embodied the true spirit of being a New Orleanian throughout his career as a notable Attorney, Judge, State Representative and City Councilmember," said Mayor Cantrell.
Mr. Sapir always had a people-first heart for the communities that he served for decades. On behalf of the residents of New Orleans, we send our heartfelt condolences to the Sapir family; we appreciate all that he gave to our great city.
Let us all keep his family and loved ones in our prayers at this time, and may he rest in God's perfect peace."
