Update – City Hall Offices Closed To The Public

The City of New Orleans announced that City Hall will be closed to the public beginning on Monday, Feb. 3 through Friday, Feb 7.

PROPERTY TAX – BUREAU OF TREASURY UPDATED OPERATIONS

Residents are reminded of the property tax deadline of Feb. 28.  Taxpayers are encouraged to pay taxes online at www.nola.gov/Treasury.  Payments can be submitted via ACH or debit/credit card.  There is no processing fee when paying by ACH, however there is 2.5% convenience fee per debit/credit card transaction.  Full payment is due when paying online.

Bureau of Treasury representatives will be available from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. for residents who wish to drop off property tax payments at the following libraries:

  • Mid-City Library, 4140 Canal St.
  • Algiers Regional Library, 3014 Holiday Dr.

Accepted forms of payment are check, money order, or cashier’s check.  NO CASH will be accepted at the libraries.

Payments can also be mailed to the following:

City of New Orleans Bureau of Treasury Department 165025 P O Box 62600 New Orleans, LA  70162-2600

NOTE: Failure to include the department number may cause a delay in processing or the postal service may return the parcel.  If you fail to include the department number on your parcel, the City of New Orleans will not waive interest fees for payments returned to sender.

Payments mailed to an address other than the address listed above, including any to the Assessor’s Office, that are received by the City of New Orleans Bureau of Treasury after the delinquency date are delinquent and interest will be imposed. 

Mailing your payment to the PO Box with a printout from our website may delay processing.  For further questions or concerns regarding payment and billing inquiries, email taxresearchunit@nola.gov
