TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Temporary Lane and Sidewalk Impacts on Prytania Street for Right-of-Way Improvements
NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans Department of Public Works (DPW) announces that beginning Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 7:00 a.m., crews will begin right-of-way improvements on Prytania Street between Peniston Street and Delachaise Street in the Touro area.
Work is part of the DPW775: Right-of-Way Concrete Improvement Project and includes ADA ramp installation, concrete panel replacement, paving, and sidewalk repairs.
DPW contractor Hard Rock Construction Co. LLC will begin work at Peniston Street and progress toward Delachaise Street. During construction, portions of Prytania Street, parking lanes, and sidewalks may be temporarily closed or impassable. Motorists and pedestrians are advised to follow posted detour and safety signage when traveling through the area.
Construction is expected to last approximately two weeks and will generally take place Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work as needed.
