July 30, 2024 | From City of New Orleans
NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans today announced that starting Wednesday, July 31 at approximately 9 a.m., the Department of Public Works (DPW), in close coordination with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LaDOTD), will close the westbound left lane along the stretch of the Pontchartrain Expressway between Metairie Road and the railroad trestle. For more details, please refer to the attached map.
Throughout the closure period, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., appropriate signage will be deployed to safely guide motorists through the affected area.
This closure is necessary to facilitate repairs by DPW contractor All Star Electric and marks another step in the ongoing collaborative effort between DPW and LaDOTD to systematically address streetlight repairs. By working together, both the City and State are dedicated to the successful implementation of these crucial improvements.
For questions about this advisory, please call 504.658.8000 or email dpw@nola.gov.
