TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Lane Closure on Pontchartrain Expressway for Streetlight Repairs

Pontchartrain Expy

NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans today announced that starting Wednesday, June 12 at approximately 9 a.m., the Department of Public Works (DPW), in close coordination with the Louisiana Department of Transportation (LaDOTD), will close the westbound right lane along the stretch of the Pontchartrain Expressway between the Metairie Road off-ramp and the Metairie Road Overpass. This closure will include the Metairie Road off-ramp. For more details, please refer to the attached map.

Throughout the closure period, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., appropriate signage will be deployed to safely guide motorists through the affected area.

This closure is necessary to facilitate repairs by DPW contractor All Star Electric and marks another step in the ongoing collaborative effort between DPW and LaDOTD to systematically address streetlight repairs.

By working together, both the City and State are dedicated to the successful implementation of these crucial improvements.
