Healthy Homes Administration to Host Next Series of Landlord Information Sessions
NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans Department of Safety & Permits’ Healthy Homes Administration today announced their next series of Landlord Information Sessions. After the success of the first session, held on May 30 at Gernon Brown Recreation Center, and due to overwhelming interest from residents, the Healthy Homes Administration has now planned an additional seven meetings.
Aimed at providing information for rental property owners across the city, each Landlord Information Session will offer landlords an opportunity to learn the requirements of the Healthy Homes Ordinance, as well as how to register rental property with the City of New Orleans.
The registry process for Healthy Homes is being implemented in a phased approach, based on the total number of units on each parcel. The next round is for parcels with 4 – 49 dwelling units. Registration for these owners must be completed between July 1 to August 15, 2024. Owners of parcels with 4 – 49 dwelling units are encouraged to attend one of these sessions to receive more information on the process.
There will be at least one meeting in each City Council District, including two in Districts C and E. The dates and locations are as follows:
- Monday, June 24 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Norman Mayer Library (3001 Gentilly Blvd.)
- Tuesday, June 25 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Algiers Regional Library (3014 Holiday Dr.)
