Home » Mayor's Office » News » 2024-11-26 Traffic Advisory: Temporary Closure of Howard Avenue and Loyola Avenue
November 26, 2024 | From City of New Orleans
The City of New Orleans announce that the Department of Public Works will be proactively closing Howard Avenue (from Rampart to Loyola) and the right lane of Loyola Avenue (from Howard to Julia) until further notice.
This closure is due to safety precautions related to the deteriorating condition of an adjacent building. The closure will remain in effect until further notice is provided by the building owner regarding necessary repairs.
Traffic on Howard Avenue will be diverted to O'Keefe Avenue. Safety remains the City’s top priority. Signage and traffic control measures, including barrels and barricades, will be installed to guide drivers and pedestrians safely through the area.
For more information or updates, please check official city communications.
