TRAFFIC ADVISORY: TEMPORARY LANE CLOSURES IN MID-CITY BLOCKS FOR ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS
The City of New Orleans Department of Public Works (DPW) announces that beginning the week of Monday, October 6, 2025, at 7 a.m., crews will begin asphalt removal and milling at the following locations in Mid-City:
- 100 block of South Saint Patrick Street
- 100 block of North Bernadotte Street
- 4700 block of Cleveland Avenue
- 300 block of South Olympia Street
Work at these locations is anticipated to take approximately one to two weeks to complete, weather permitting.
During this time, temporary lane closures will allow DPW contractor Hard Rock Construction Co.. LLC to perform asphalt patching roadway improvements as part of the DPW771: Right of Way Asphalt Improvement Project, aimed at improving drivability and safety.
Traffic control measures — including signage, cones, and fencing — will be in place to ensure the safety of drivers and pedestrians. Parking will be prohibited on blocks where crews are actively working. “No parking” signs will be posted in advance to notify residents and businesses. Local access will be maintained, but drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes during these various closures.
This work is part of the DPW771: Right of Way Asphalt Improvement Project, which includes asphalt milling and overlay with replacement, paving, and sidewalk repairs at various locations throughout the city. Hard Rock Construction Co. LLC is leading construction activities, which generally take place Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work as needed.
