The City of New Orleans is inviting hospitality and service industry professionals to attend a crucial public safety training session designed specifically for their needs. The session, titled Prepared & Protected: Security Strategies for Hospitality Professionals, will be held Saturday, Jan. 25, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Basin Street Station, 501 Basin St.

On Saturday, Oct. 5 the event will take place in Algiers at 3201 Vespasian Blvd. from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. At the event, community members can receive flu vaccinations, enjoy free food, snowballs, a game truck, music, a clothing giveaway, and free groceries while engaging with city departments and local organizations at the resource fair. In addition, volunteers will engage in litter and debris collection in the area.

The City of New Orleans today announced that the 2025 Budget Town Hall has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 27. This in-person meeting will be held at the University of New Orleans (UNO) University Center in the Senator Ted Hickey Ballroom (room 203), located at 2000 Alumni Dr. Free parking is available on-site. All residents are encouraged to visit the City Budget Website for more information and to submit questions and comments prior to the meeting.
