As NEO’s fourth installment of its “Neighborhood Cares Initiative” this year, the Mayor’s Neighborhood Engagement Office (NEO) held its largest Back-To-School Fair to date on this past Friday, August 1st, at the Treme Rec Center, an impactful community initiative designed to help students prepare for the upcoming school year. The event drew thousands of residents for a day filled with resources.

On Saturday, May 24th, the Mayor's Neighborhood Engagement Office (NEO) held the second Neighborhood Cares Initiative Community Day of 2025 at Eastshore Playground.
On Saturday, March 22nd, the Mayor's Neighborhood Engagement Office (NEO) held the first Neighborhood Cares Initiative Community Day of 2025 in Gert Town.
Over 75 volunteers spent the morning participating in park improvements and cleaning the community, collecting over 50 trash bags, and cleaning 20 catch basins. City departments cut over 17 overgrown lots, filled 98 potholes, removed 15 abandoned vehicles and cleared dumping sites throughout the neighborhood.
On Saturday, February 1st and Sunday, February 2nd, the Mayor’s Neighborhood Engagement Office along with the Department of Public Works held a two-day Love Your City: Citywide Cleanup event.
