A Neighborhood Cares Day at N.O. East Ray Ave Baptist Church on May 21, 2022
On Saturday, May 21, 2022, the Mayor’s Neighborhood Engagement Office (NEO) held a Neighborhood Cares Day in the Rosedale Neighborhood of New Orleans East.
A team of volunteers, led by Mayor Cantrell, participated in a neighborhood clean-up. In advance of and during the event, City Departments patched over 200 potholes, cut over 50 lots, and demolished 21 units of an abandoned apartment complex and two blighted houses.
Volunteers also made improvements to the neighborhood by restoring fences, painting murals, and building benches.
Sixteen community organizations and City departments tabled at the Community Resource Fair, providing neighbors crucial information and services, including COVID-19 testing and vaccinations, and job opportunities.
