City Council Regular Meeting Summary

NEW ORLEANS, LA – At its regular meeting today, the City Council adopted an ordinance as amended requiring criminal justice agencies to use the current enterprise resource planning system (BRASS) to better track spending. The Council also passed a resolution that supports the creation of the West End Economic Development District in Orleans and Jefferson Parishes through Louisiana House Bill 892, along with several other pieces of legislation.

City of New Orleans to hold Lottery for Jackson Square Artisits

NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans today announced that it will hold a lottery for qualified artists to obtain permits necessary to sell art in Jackson Square in the French Quarter on Saturday, April 11.

City code requires artists who sell art on or around Jackson Square to obtain an Occupational License and Mayoralty Permit from the Department of Finance's Bureau of Revenue.
