New Orleans – On February 17, 2020, the NOPD arrested Brandon Hamilton (pictured, DOB: 1-25-02) in connection to several auto burglaries that occurred on February 8, 2020 and February 9, 2020.

The Freret Group A project began in early February 2020 with an official groundbreaking ceremony. This $4M project was designed by Kyle Associates, LLC and will be constructed by Hard Rock Construction, LLC.
In summer 2020, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and development (DOTD) will begin an improvement project along North Claiborne between Poydras Street and St. Bernard Avenue. The project will also include LA 39 from St. Bernard Avenue to the west side of the Judge Seeber Bridge.
The Mid-City Group A project was designed by Infinity Engineering and is being constructed by Hard Rock Construction, LLC. The entire project was originally scheduled to be complete this fall; however, additional scope has been added. All work is now anticipated to be complete in spring 2021.
In mid-February, crews wrapped up the construction project by installing new sidewalks and driveway aprons, as well as by sealing the concrete joints in the 900 block of Taft Place. Crews also installed sod in the area between sidewalks and curbs in the 800 and 900 blocks to put the finishing pieces into place.
On February 4, 2020, crews began excavating portions of Pontalba and Hawthorne streets for the installation of new water lines. The work is part of the $7M infrastructure improvement project that will affect nearly two dozen streets in the area.
The Hagan-Lafitte Project continues as Command Construction completed a large drainage tie in and began prep work for paving on Toulouse Street. Eventually, bioswales will be installed throughout the streetscape in order to help drain excessive water from the neighborhood.
In addition to roadway work, TKTMJ Construction will begin testing the slurry (a special concrete mixture used to bind the rip rap rocks of the retaining wall) on the Breakwater Drive project this month. Immediately following the testing, work will begin on the west berm launch parking/docking. Crews recently completed the subsurface drainage work throughout the project.
City of New Orleans contractor, Beverly Construction recently receieved approval from the Department of Public Works, Sewerage and Water Board and FEMA to add roadway and waterline work to the West End Group A project. This additional scope of work will address preexistent shallow waterlines and elevation issues throughout the project – including necessary elevation corrections on 22nd Street. The project will now be wrapped up in early 2021 in order to accomadate the new scope.
