City of New Orleans Announces Resignation of Mayor’s Office of Nighttime Economy Director

The City of New Orleans today announced the resignation of the Mayor’s Office of Nighttime Economy (ONE) Founding Director Howie Kaplan. Over the last two years, the office has acted as a liaison between City government and our robust hospitality industry. Building this new department from the ground up, Kaplan has supported policies and legislation that uplift our local cultural economy and advocated on behalf of the over 50,000 hospitality and nighttime workers within the city.

New Orleans Music Census Launches Today, Calling All Voices to Shape the Future of New Orleans Music Policy

Today marks the kickoff of the New Orleans Music Census, an ambitious endeavor spearheaded by the Mayor’s Office of Nighttime Economy to collect comprehensive data about the local music ecosystem. With the aim of delving deep into the heartbeat of our city, this initiative promises to be a game-changer, harnessing data to amplify the voices of those who shape our musical landscape. The census will be accepting responses at musiccensus.org/nola starting today, May 10 through May 31.
