Business Incentives & Sustainability

The City of New Orleans and its partners offer a variety or programs that provide resources that help local businesses save money and operate more sustainably.

Energy Smart

Energy Smart is an energy efficiency program administered by Entergy New Orleans on behalf of the New Orleans City Council. Energy Smart offers comprehensive and innovative energy efficiency solutions to help Entergy New Orleans residential and business customers save energy and money by reducing the up-front cost of a variety of energy efficiency upgrades.

Adopt a Catch Basin

The City’s Adopt a Catch Basin program enables residents to participate in this effort by adopting a catch basin in their neighborhood. Many residents want to adopt their catch basin to reduce the likelihood of flooding in their neighborhoods.

Participants select a catch basin on the Adopt-A-Catchbasin (nola.gov) web map, adopt it, and give it a name. Their adoption is a simple commitment to sweep the debris (leaves, trash, and dirt) from in front of the catch basin and dispose of the items in a garbage can with a secure lid. The interactive map allows volunteers to report the dates on which they cleaned their catch basins.

Glass Half Full Recycling

Partner with Glass Half Full to optimize your brand’s sustainability practices, cut waste collection costs, and support a greener future for the Gulf South. Glass Half Full's transparent process diverts your glass “waste” from the landfill and processes it into sand and gravel for a myriad of applications. From coastal projects and disaster relief, to eco-construction and new glass products, we work creatively to transform recycled glass into a resource that benefits the local community and environment.

Glass Half Full provides impact reports to each of the businesses they work with, so their customers can easily track and share the positive environmental impact of their partnership.
