Firefighters respond to 1515 Poydras Street, Louisiana Superdome

Sunday, January 20, 2013 at 12:08 pm the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) responded to an alarm at 1515 Poydras Street; the Louisiana Superdome.  A fire ignited in a dryer on the northeast corner of the first floor which activated the fire alarm.  Fire companies arrived within two minutes to find the fire contained to the dryer by the automatic sprinkler system.  Firefighters replaced the sprinkler head and reset the alarm system.  The cause of the fire was a dryer malfunction and there were no reported injuries.
