Three Alarm fire at 327 N. Miro at Bienville

Monday, March 25, 2013 at 05:24 am, the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) responded to a 911 call for 327 North Miro at Bienville street. First arriving companies found this 1 story, 6 unit shotgun style dwelling, fully involved with fire extending through windows.  The company officer immediately struck a second alarm as firefighters entered through the rear of the structure to make an interior attack but had to back out as the fire spread rapidly through the common roof and attic.  A third alarm was called to help protect other exposures.  Firefighters did good job of containing this large fire to the fire building.  Neighbors report seeing vagrants frequenting this property.

The New Orleans Emergency Medical Services, and Entergy Gas and Electric all assisted in the mitigation of this incident.  The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
