NOFD In-Service Promotional Ceremony
On Friday, November 22, 2024, the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) conducted an in-service promotional ceremony for twelve members being promoted to the positions of Apparatus Operator, Fire Captain and District Chief. The ceremony was held at the Andrew P. Sanchez and Copelin-Byrd Multi-Service Center at 1616 Fats Domino Ave., in the Lower-Ninth Ward. The Honorable Mayor Latoya Cantrell participated as special guest speaker.
The NOFD members promoted were:
District Chiefs: Alvin Fernandez, Michael Sciortino, Jr., Byron Casey, Scott Smith and Mark Porche’ Jr.
Captains: Rachel Decesare, Darrell Blake, Matthew Meyers and William Spiers
Operators: Ross Flowers, Aleksandr Tumanov, and Charles Fortenberry
