Two Alarm Fire in Vacant Dwelling at 2630 Annette Street

On Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 3:08 a.m., the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) responded to a 911 call of smoke in the area of Allen Street and Law Street. The first company arrived on the scene at 3:14 a.m. reporting heavy smoke and fire from the rear of 2630 Annette Street. Fire Companies immediately requested a second alarm for additional staffing due heavy flames that spread to the dwelling next door. The primary fire dwelling was significantly damaged, this vacant and boarded up home had no utilities. The exposed home, a two-story double at 2632-34 Annette Street, received minor exterior damage to the 2632 side of the home. This home was vacant and under renovation. NOFD personnel did and extraordinary job of controlling this fire and keeping it from consuming exposures due to the windy conditions.
Eighteen NOFD units carrying forty-four Fire Operations personnel were deployed to bring this fire under control at 3:48 a.m. There were no reports of any civilian or firefighter injuries and the cause of this fire is under investigation.
