May 23, 2025 | From New Orleans Fire Department
On Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at 8:07 P.M., the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) was dispatched to 25442 Chef Menteur Hwy. Upon arrival, companies discovered a building fully involved in fire. The single-story structure appeared to be a storage building with contents inside. Because of the distance of the remote location from other responding companies, a second alarm was requested for additional staff to respond. The members of the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) were assisted by Fort Pike and the Slidell Fire Department, who responded with a full one-alarm response. All companies did an excellent job of managing the fire, bringing the incident under control without injuries or extension. The incident was placed under control at 9:12 P.M.
