September 10, 2025 | From New Orleans Fire Department
On Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at 3:50 a.m., the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) was dispatched to 1532 Carrollton Ave. Upon arrival, firefighters were met with a working fire that was consuming the second story of a wood-framed dwelling. Fire crews quickly struck a second alarm to request additional staffing due to heavy flames that were threatening nearby residences adjacent on both sides and to the rear of the burning structure. NOFD personnel did an extraordinary job containing and controlling this fire to just the primary structure, considering the proximity of the other residences. There was significant damage to the primary fire building with a confirmed collapse of the roof on the structure. No injuries were reported by fire personnel or the civilian population. NOFD fire investigators are presently investigating the incident. Fifteen (17) NOFD units staffed with forty (40) fire personnel were deployed to bring the incident under control. 911 Call Received: 3:50 a.m. 1st Alarm: 3:51 a.m. 2nd Alarm: 4:01 a.m. On Scene: 3:59 a.m. Under Control: 6:03 a.m. NOFD Personnel: 40 NOFD Units: 17 Cause: Under Investigation Injuries: 0 -
