NOFD Engine 24 Returns to its Permanent Location Following Renovations

After more than two years of repairs and renovations, New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) Engine 24 will return to its permanent location, Station 24, at 1040 Poland Ave. on Saturday, September 20, 2025. Station 24 has undergone extensive infrastructural repairs; this includes a new roof, framing members, plumbing, and electrical overhaul.
Since January of 2023, Engine 24 has been responding from Station 8, 3300 Florida Ave. This temporary relocation allowed Engine 24 to continue to provide prompt emergency service from the NOFD’s nearest departmental facility. Station 24 coming back into service returns a more efficient response to the Bywater and Marigny neighborhoods it serves.
