December 28, 2025 | From New Orleans Fire Department
On Sunday, December 28, 2025, at 7:16 a.m., the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) was dispatched to a reported dwelling fire near the intersection of Vienna St and Spain St. The first NOFD units arrived on the scene of 2360 Vienna St. at 7:20 a.m., finding a working fire in a single-story, single-family home with flames emanating from the left-front corner. Fire personnel immediately conducted an interior attack on the fire, while simultaneously conducting a primary search of the dwelling for residents in need of rescue or possible fatalities. During the search, an adult male was found unresponsive in what could be described as the family-room of the dwelling. It was determined that the victim was deceased upon NOFD arrival. The victim was identified as the forty-one-year-old male resident of the home.
The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) has been called to the scene to assist NOFD Fire Investigators and Fire Operations personnel with the investigation of this incident. Seven NOFD Fire Operations units, supported by twenty-one firefighters, were used to bring this fire under control at 7:52 a.m. The cause of both the fire and fatality are currently being investigated.
