January 1, 2026 | From New Orleans Fire Department
On Thursday, January 1, 2026, at 1:54 A.M the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) responded to 3917 State Street Drive. Upon arrival, they were confronted with heavy smoke coming from the second floor of a two-story home. The Chief in command at the scene was concerned with life safety because of the early morning hours, and that there may be people inside, and requested a second alarm. A thorough search was conducted, and the fire was placed under control with no injuries reported. Currently, the fire is under investigation, and there were no injuries to civilians or fire personnel.
