NOFD RESPONDS TO A TWO-ALARM FIRE

On Monday, January 26, 2026, at 6:27 p.m., the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) was dispatched to 2251 Baronne Street. Upon arrival, companies encountered heavy fire in a two-story dwelling, with flames coming from the rear of the building. Fire crews entered the structure and initiated fire suppression operations, searching for any additional occupants. A second alarm was struck to provide additional staffing to control the fire's extension within the building. It was determined that two occupants had left the dwelling before the arrival of the fire companies, and no other individuals were inside. There were no injuries to occupants or firefighters during the incident, and the fire is under investigation.
