NOFD Responds to Early Morning Residential Fire

On Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 4:32 a.m., the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) was dispatched to a reported fire in an occupied dwelling located at 4211 Cadillac St. The first NOFD units arrived on the scene at 4:38 a.m., finding a single-family, wood-framed dwelling already heavily involved with flames through the roof. A male resident of the home advised firefighters that he, his wife, and child had all escaped safely prior to NOFD arrival. A second alarm was requested at 4:43 a.m., as cool, dry and windy conditions contributed to the fire’s escalation. An occupied single-family home at 4213 Cadillac St., received considerable damage to the rear of the structure. The backyard shed of a home at 1251 Harrison Ave also received moderate damage.

Seventeen NOFD apparatuses and support vehicles, staffed by forty-six Fire Operations personnel, were dispatched to this fire. The New Orleans Police Department, Entergy Electric, Delta Utilities (Gas) and New Orleans Emergency Medical Services all responded to assist with the mitigation of this incident. There were no injuries reported and the cause is currently being investigated. This incident had not yet been listed as under control.
