NEW ORLEANS FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPONDS TO TWO-ALARM FIRE

On Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 2:29 p.m., the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) was dispatched to 2618 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Upon arrival, companies encountered heavy fire in a two-story dwelling, with flames coming from the left and rear of the building. Firefighters quickly addressed the rapidly growing flames and struck a second alarm. Additional companies arrived to help suppress the fire and protect buildings on both sides of the fire building, as well as in the rear. The affected building is a two-story duplex/double, addressed as 2618 A&B and 2620 A&B Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. The residence appeared to be vacant, and no civilian or firefighter injuries were reported. The fire is currently under investigation.
