Occupant Rescued from Two-Alarm Residential Fire on Canal St

On Monday, March 2, 2026, at 8:22 p.m., the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) was dispatched to a reported fire in a residence at 3205 Canal St. NOFD Fire Operations personnel arrived on the scene of this single-story, single-family home at 8:26 p.m. Confirmation of possible persons trapped and the extent of the fire upon arrival, prompted the request for second alarm contingent of Fire Operations personnel and resources at 8:26 p.m.

 

An adult male resident, the only occupant at the time of the fire, was pulled from a window during the primary search of the dwelling. He was treated on the scene for smoke inhalation by New Orleans Emergency Medical Services (NOEMS) personnel and transported to an area hospital for further observation. Seventeen NOFD units, supported by forty-six firefighters, were used to bring this incident under control at 9:04 p.m. There were no other injuries reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
