March 6, 2026 | From New Orleans Fire Department
On Friday, March 6, 2026, at 12:23 a.m., the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) was dispatched to a reported fire involving a dwelling in the 300 block of 30th St. in Lakeview. The first NOFD units arrived on the scene at 12:28 a.m., finding an unoccupied two-story single-family home, at 301 30th St., already heavily involved in the rear and flames threatening a neighboring home to the immediate left. A second alarm was requested at 12:54 a.m., when the fire began consuming most of the second floor and seriously threatening the occupied home next door. The neighboring exposure suffered moderate damage to its right exterior wall but remains inhabitable.
Eighteen NOFD units, supported by forty-nine NOFD Fire Operations personnel, were used to bring this incident under control at 1:33 a.m. There were no injuries reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
