The New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) recognizes the Carl Holmes Executive Development Institute (EDI) for 35 years of excellence in fire service leadership education and professional development, as well as its 25 year partnership with Dillard University.

Since its founding in 1991, Carl Holmes EDI has provided leadership training and professional development opportunities for more than 2,500 fire service personnel worldwide.
