NOFD Announces Headquarters Relocation to 401 City Park Avenue
The New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) is announcing the relocation of its headquarters from 317 Decatur Street in the historic French Quarter to 401 City Park Avenue.
For the first time in more than 100 years, the department’s headquarters will move to a new location, marking a significant milestone in the history of the NOFD.
To facilitate the move, NOFD headquarters at 317 Decatur Street will close at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2026. Administrative operations will temporarily pause during the relocation process.
Only NOFD headquarters is relocating as part of this transition. Engine 29, located at 317 Decatur Street, will remain at that location, and there are currently no plans to relocate Engine 29.
Emergency response operations will not be affected. Fire companies will continue responding to emergencies throughout the city, and residents should continue to call 9-1-1 in the event of an emergency.

The relocation reflects years of planning and preparation and marks a new chapter for the New Orleans Fire Department. The new headquarters will provide a modern workspace that supports the department’s administrative operations while maintaining the NOFD’s long-standing commitment to public safety and its mission of protecting the residents and visitors of New Orleans.
