The Field Operations Bureau stands at the forefront of public safety in New Orleans, providing comprehensive police services 24/7. From emergency response to criminal investigations, our teams work tirelessly to protect life and property while maintaining public order through proactive patrols and specialized operations.
Leadership: Deputy Superintendent Ryan Lubrano
Through our partnership with the Orleans Parish Communications District (OPCD), we maintain round-the-clock emergency response capabilities. OPCD manages our state-of-the-art Computer Aided Dispatch System, handling both 911 emergency calls and non-emergency communications. During special events and emergencies, OPCD operates a dedicated Emergency Communications Center (Base-9).
Our Electronics Section supports these efforts by maintaining the department's critical radio communications infrastructure, ensuring reliable contact between dispatch and field units.
The Special Operations Division manages NOPD's elite specialized units that handle high-risk situations and specialized enforcement operations across New Orleans.
