The NOPD is investigating a murder that occurred tonight (September 3, 2016) near the intersection of Clio and South Tonti Streets.

While the public may automatically connect an NOPD employee with our outstanding officers in blue or white out on the streets, many may not think of the numerous civilian staff that also works hard to ensure the work being done by our department. This includes the hard-working men and women of the NOPD Scientific Criminal Investigations (SCIS) Division, more commonly known as Crime Lab.
The NOPD is seeking the public’s assistance in locating and identifying those responsible for the theft of camera equipment. The incident occurred on August 31, 2016.
The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Kristian Willemoes (DOB: 03-18-1980) in connection to several simple burglary incidents and Ekaterina "Katya" Sitnikova (DOB: 01-06-1982) in connection to fraud in the Second District.
The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Renard Santiago (DOB 05-17-1986) for an aggravated assault with a firearm in the 5900 block of Boeing Street. The incident occurred on August 30, 2016.

A woman wanted for multiple incidents involving domestic violence is behind bars today (September 1, 2016) after police received a tip from a citizen on where the suspect was staying.
The NOPD Traffic Division arrested four individuals for driving while intoxicated during an overnight sobriety checkpoint.
