At the heart of New Orleans' neighborhoods, Ubuntu Village's Peace Ambassadors work tirelessly to prevent violence before it begins. These dedicated community members do more than just respond to crisis – they build lasting relationships within our neighborhoods, connecting with families who need support most.
Working with local families, they foster an environment where peace can take root and grow, transforming communities from within.
Breaking the Cycle The CRA takes an innovative approach to preventing youth violence in our schools. Rather than waiting for conflicts to escalate, trained facilitators step in at the first signs of tension. Through carefully guided restorative dialogue, they help young people find peaceful solutions to their differences.
By intervening before violence occurs, CRA helps our youth develop the skills they need to handle conflicts constructively, creating safer schools and stronger communities.
These programs represent our city's commitment to building peace from the ground up, one conversation, one relationship, and one community at a time.
