Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Program

Overview

The Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Program (DV & SA Program) leads the city's response to domestic violence and sexual assault by coordinating community-based and criminal justice partnerships and programs, providing training & technical assistance, supporting prevention programming for families impacted by violence and advocating for policies that support survivors.

The DV & SA Program leads our city's comprehensive response through five key areas:

  • Violence Prevention & Education: Supporting families through prevention programs, education, and early intervention
  • Community Resource Linkages: Promoting connections for survivors with local support services, shelters, and crisis intervention
  • Provider Support: Offering training and technical assistance to criminal legal agencies, health care providers and community organizations
  • Facilitating Emergency Response: Coordinating the AIR Program and multi-disciplinary response teams for follow up assistance
  • Policy, Research, and Advocacy: Leading the Domestic Abuse Fatality Review Team and additional working groups and task forces to improve city-wide responses
