NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans Department of Parks and Parkways is now accepting applications for its 2026 Tree Planting Grants program, providing a total of $146,500 in funding to support nonprofit-led tree planting efforts across Orleans Parish.
Administered by the Greater New Orleans Foundation, the grant program supports the City’s ambitious goal of restoring and expanding the urban forest by planting 40,000 new trees by 2030. Funding will be awarded to eligible nonprofit organizations to plant trees on public property throughout New Orleans.
Grant awards will range from $15,000 to $25,000. To be eligible, applicants must be tax-exempt nonprofit organizations located in Orleans Parish and agree to install trees in accordance with the Department of Parks and Parkways’ specifications and regulations.
