Additional Information: Brechtel Park is a nature preserve within New Orleans' urban environment. The lagoon system and diverse trees attract myriad bird species traveling the Mississippi Flyway.

Parks and Parkways partners with nonprofits, volunteers, and government agencies on ongoing restoration efforts guided by the Brechtel Park Master Plan and Ecoplan. This blueprint helps conserve a vibrant habitat and enables more residents to enjoy natural beauty within the city.
Park Shelter Rental Information: The park offers 8 shelters which accommodate up to 100 people each. Bathroom facilities for Shelters 1-6 are located across from Shelter 2. Shelter 4 is located adjacent to the Children’s Play Area. Shelter 5 is adjacent to the baseball field. Shelters 7 & 8 are rented as a pair and have separate bathroom facilities and electrical outlets. Exclusive use of Scout Island is also available.
